Overview

CRT Multi TF brings the power of multi-timeframe Candle Range Theory analysis directly to your chart. The indicator monitors higher-timeframe candle structures to identify when price sweeps beyond a key range and reverses -a pattern heavily exploited by institutional traders. Once a valid CRT setup is detected, the indicator maps the opportunity to your trading timeframe, generating clear Buy or Sell signals with projected take-profit levels. A built-in clean sweep validator grades the quality of each liquidity grab, helping you focus on the highest-probability setups.

How It Works

CRT Multi TF monitors a configurable higher timeframe for Candle Range Theory patterns -- candles where price sweeps beyond the prior candle high or low then reverses and closes back inside the range. On the higher timeframe, a bullish CRT occurs when the current candle dips below the previous candle low but closes above it, while the previous candle was bearish and non-basing. A bearish CRT is the mirror: the current candle wicks above the prior candle high but closes below it. These patterns represent institutional liquidity grabs that trap traders on the wrong side.

Once a higher-timeframe CRT is detected, the indicator maps it to your lower-timeframe chart by identifying the swing extreme within the HTF candle range and drawing an entry trigger line at that level. For a bullish CRT, it finds the highest point reached during the HTF candle and waits for your lower-timeframe price to break above it. For a bearish CRT, it finds the lowest point and waits for a break below. You can configure how many HTF candles the entry remains valid.

A built-in clean sweep validator evaluates the quality of the liquidity grab by counting how many lower-timeframe candles swept beyond the key level during the HTF candle formation. If only one or two wicks breached the level with minimal body closes beyond it, the sweep is graded as clean -- indicating a precise institutional stop hunt rather than a sustained breakout. Two take-profit targets are automatically plotted based on the higher-timeframe structure: TP1 at the prior HTF candle low or high, and TP2 at the HTF 10-bar highest or lowest close.

Key Features

01

Multi-Timeframe CRT Detection

Analyzes higher-timeframe candle structure to identify Candle Range Theory setups, then maps them to your current chart timeframe for precision entries.

02

Automatic Entry Signals

Generates clearly labeled Buy and Sell signals when price confirms a CRT reversal by breaking through a key level on the lower timeframe.

03

Clean Sweep Validation

Evaluates the quality of each liquidity sweep to distinguish high-probability clean sweep setups from lower-quality ones.

04

Projected Take-Profit Levels

Automatically calculates and displays two take-profit targets based on the higher-timeframe structure for planned exits.

Common Trading Setups

Practical ways to trade with CRT Multi TF.

01

Clean Sweep Entry

Take only CRT signals that receive the Clean Sweep validation checkmark, focusing on the highest-quality institutional liquidity grabs.

  1. 1Set the Higher Timeframe to 3 hours (default 180 minutes) and chart on the 15-minute or 30-minute timeframe.
  2. 2Wait for a triangle marker to appear indicating a higher-timeframe CRT has been detected.
  3. 3Monitor for the lower-timeframe entry trigger -- the Buy or Sell label will appear when price breaks the swing extreme.
  4. 4Check for the Clean Sweep checkmark icon confirming minimal wick and body breaches during the HTF candle.
  5. 5Enter the trade with TP1 as your first target and TP2 as your extended target.
02

HTF Separator Session Trading

Use the HTF separator lines to identify session-based CRT setups, timing entries around major session opens and closes.

  1. 1Enable Show HTF Separator to see dashed vertical lines marking higher-timeframe candle boundaries.
  2. 2Look for CRT patterns that form at the close of one session and the open of the next (e.g., London close into NY open).
  3. 3These session-boundary CRTs tend to be higher probability because they capture overnight liquidity grabs.
  4. 4Enter on the signal and manage the trade through the new session, targeting the CRT projected levels.

ParameterTypeDefaultDescription
Higher Timeframetimeframe180The higher timeframe to monitor for CRT patterns. Default is 3-hour. Common choices are 1H, 4H, or Daily depending on your trading timeframe.
Show HTF SeparatorbooltrueDisplays vertical lines at higher-timeframe candle boundaries for visual reference.
Trade Within X HTF Candlesint4Number of higher-timeframe candles within which a CRT setup must complete to remain valid.
First LTF High/Low EntryboolfalseWhen enabled, enters on the first lower-timeframe high or low break instead of waiting for confirmation. Higher risk but higher potential reward.

Pro Tips

Don't Set HTF Too High

If the higher timeframe is too far from your trading timeframe, signals become rare and the mapping becomes imprecise. A 3-8x ratio is ideal.

Leave First LTF Entry Disabled Initially

The first LTF high/low entry option is aggressive. Master the standard entry method before enabling it for higher risk/reward trades.

Use HTF Separators for Context

The vertical separator lines help you see exactly where higher-timeframe candles begin and end, giving you critical context for understanding the CRT setup's position.

Frequently Asked Questions

The indicator works on the 1-hour chart and below. A common pairing is a 15-minute chart with a 3-hour (180-minute) HTF input. The key is that the HTF must be significantly larger than your chart timeframe so the CRT pattern captures meaningful price structure. If you set the HTF too close to your chart timeframe, the signals will be less meaningful.

The Clean Sweep validator counts how many lower-timeframe candles wicked beyond the CRT key level and how many closed beyond it. If there are two or fewer wick breaches and one or fewer body closes, the sweep is classified as clean. This means the liquidity grab was surgical and precise, which typically indicates institutional activity rather than organic momentum.

TP1 targets the prior higher-timeframe candle low (for sells) or high (for buys), representing the immediate structural target. TP2 targets the HTF 10-bar lowest or highest close, representing a more extended profit objective. You can take partial profits at TP1 and let the remainder run to TP2.

When enabled, the entry trigger is placed at the first lower-timeframe high or low immediately after the HTF candle opens, rather than at the most extreme point within the entire HTF candle range. This provides earlier entries with more reward potential but also more risk, since the sweep extreme has not yet been confirmed. It is labeled as High Risk/High Reward for a reason.
