TradingView Plans Compared: Which One You Actually Need for Indicators
TradingView pricing explained plan by plan. What Basic, Essential, Plus, Premium and Ultimate cost, how many indicators each allows, and which one traders actually need.
Nearly every question we get about TradingView pricing is really the same question underneath: how many indicators can I actually run at once? The marketing pages lead with charts and data feeds, but if you trade from indicators, the per-chart indicator limit is the line that decides whether a plan works for you or quietly gets in your way.
This is a plain comparison of what each tier costs and what it allows, written from the perspective of someone running indicators daily.
TradingView pricing at a glance
Prices below are the promotional annual-billing rates shown on TradingView's pricing page, checked 8 August 2026. Monthly billing costs more, and TradingView runs seasonal promotions, so treat these as a reference point rather than a permanent number.
| Plan | Price (billed annually) | Indicators per chart | Charts per tab | Price alerts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | Free | 2 | 1 | 3 |
| Essential | $12.95/mo | 5 | 2 | 20 |
| Plus | $24.95/mo | 10 | 4 | 100 |
| Premium | $49.95/mo | 25 | 8 | 400 |
| Ultimate | $199.95/mo | 50 | 16 | 1,000 |
The indicator limit is the real decision
Every indicator you load counts toward the per-chart limit, including the simple ones. A moving average counts. A volume overlay counts. So the usable budget is smaller than it looks:
- Basic (2 indicators). Enough to look at a chart, not enough to trade a system. Two slots disappear the moment you add anything alongside your main tool.
- Essential (5). Workable for a single-method trader. One primary indicator, a moving average, a volume study, and you are close to full.
- Plus (10). The practical minimum for a real multi-tool setup. You can run a structure tool, a zone tool, a signal tool and still have room for context.
- Premium (25). Comfortable. You will not think about the limit again, and you get the alert capacity to match.
- Ultimate (50). Only worth it if you genuinely need 16 charts per tab or 1,000 alerts. Most retail traders do not.
If you use our Smarter Money Suite, that one script bundles several concepts into a single indicator slot, which stretches a lower plan considerably further than loading four separate tools would.
What else changes between tiers
Alerts. Basic gives you 3 price alerts. Essential 20, Plus 100, Premium 400, Ultimate 1,000. If your method is "set alerts at key levels and wait," this matters as much as the indicator count. Alert duration also improves on paid tiers, so alerts stop expiring on you mid-week.
Historical data. Basic 5K bars, Essential and Plus 10K, Premium 20K, Ultimate 40K. This matters for backtesting depth and for indicators that need long lookbacks. Minute-level history is capped at 180 days on Essential and 365 days on Plus, while Premium and above get the full archive.
Bar Replay. Available from Essential upward. If you practise setups by replaying past sessions, that alone justifies leaving Basic.
Second-based and tick intervals. Premium and above only. Relevant if you scalp; irrelevant otherwise.
Volume Profile, footprint and TPO. These sit on the paid tiers and are what most people are actually buying when they upgrade past Essential. Our guides on volume profile versus TPO and footprint charts cover what they do.

Which plan for which trader
- Just learning, no live money yet. Basic. Two indicators forces you to actually learn one method instead of stacking five. Upgrade when the limit becomes the thing stopping you.
- Swing trader, one clear system. Essential. Five indicators and 20 alerts covers a higher-timeframe approach where you check charts a few times a day.
- Intraday trader running a full setup. Plus. Ten indicators and 100 alerts is where most serious retail traders land, and it is the first tier that stops feeling cramped.
- Heavy alert user, scalper, or multi-market trader. Premium. The jump from 100 to 400 alerts and the addition of second-based intervals is the actual reason to pay the difference, not the indicator count.
- Professional or team use. Ultimate, and note that professional users are required to use it regardless of preference.
Honest notes before you buy
- Annual billing is where the discount lives. The headline numbers above assume paying for a year up front. Monthly billing costs meaningfully more per month.
- Trials exist. Essential, Plus and Premium offer a 30-day free trial, Ultimate 14 days. There is little reason to guess which tier suits you when you can run your actual setup on one for a month.
- Upgrade later, not now. Start at the tier your current method needs. Every plan can be upgraded, and the indicator limit will tell you clearly when you have outgrown it.
- Sales tax may be added depending on your country, so the checkout figure can differ from the listed price.
How this affects using our indicators
All GrandAlgo indicators run on any paid TradingView plan, and several run fine on Basic if it is the only thing on your chart. The practical guidance:
- Running one of our tools at a time: Essential is enough.
- Running two or three together, for example structure plus zones plus signals: Plus.
- Running a full confluence setup with alerts on multiple pairs: Premium.
If you want to see what a multi-indicator setup actually looks like before choosing a tier, the indicator gallery shows each tool on a live chart, and the performance page shows dated examples of them firing.
Key Takeaways
- Indicators per chart is the number that decides the plan: 2 / 5 / 10 / 25 / 50 across Basic, Essential, Plus, Premium, Ultimate.
- Plus is the practical minimum for a genuine multi-indicator setup.
- Premium earns its price through alert capacity and second-based intervals, not the indicator count.
- Every indicator counts toward the limit, including moving averages and volume studies.
- Use the free trial on the tier you think you need before paying for a year.
